TOPIC: Hi, I'm Graham and I'm a Joomla!ite

Hi, I'm Graham and I'm a Joomla!ite 2 years ago #28

Hi, I'm Graham from Banbridge, Star of the Co Down. Been working with Joomla for around 3 years now after having my eyes opened to the world of open source.

I'm not a techie, or coder, (an accountant, but don't hold that against me).

Love Joomla! as it's a great CMS which gives the power to the user not the developer.

Hi Graham, welcome

"Gives the power to the user and the developer"

That's why Joomla being open source is so great. At least, in my opinion. And trust me, I'm full of them.... It's nice to see people coming at if from different angles.

Have many people heard about Joomla around Co Down?

Of course "and the developer".
Sorry seen too many sites where users have no control at all

I've spotting an increased use of Joomla here
I know that one of our local schools has started using it
www.newbridgeintegrated.org/
I'll make contact and see who developed it.

Also one of our regional colleges has an open source centre, and their website is Joomla!

I've often found it's the bad past experiences many users have had in trying to manage their own html websites (or worse, track down their webmaster who has gone AWOL, and taken website access with them!) that have made the Joomla "sell" easier for me. Loads of people know they want a content management system without knowing what one is

Thanks for the links. It's great to see Joomla being used by community groups.
